OVERVIEW
Description
Virginia Diodes, Inc. (VDI) Signal Generator Extension (SGX) modules provide high performance frequency extension of microwave signal generators into the THz range. VDI SGX modules offer full waveguide band coverage and are available from WR15 (50 to 75 GHz) to WM-164 (1.1 to 1.5 THz) with additional bands under development. This turn-key, sweepable solution is compatible with any microwave signal generator that meets the input frequency and power requirements.

Standard Features

- TTL controlled ON/OFF modulation up to ~kHz
- Voltage controlled RF Power Control
- 8" x 5" x 3" enclosure suitable for standalone operation or mounting on optical tables and probe stations
- 9V DC power supply included
Options
- External Micrometer driven variable attenuator (~0-30dB)
- Output horn antenna for free space coupling
- Waveguide test port extensions (1" and 2" available)
- Increased amplitude modulation rate (up to ~300 MHz) with added PIN switch (does not apply for Mini SGX)
- RF cable
Modular Mini SGX
Consider a Modular Mini Signal Generator Extender (SGX-M) with rapidly interchangeable components. Continuous frequency coverage from 170-1,100 GHz (WR9.0SGX-M) or 140-900 GHz (WR10SGX-M) is possible by purchasing additional multipliers.
Standard, re-configurable and broadband THz Signal Generator Extender Modules (SGX-M) are available. The customer can reconfigure the WR10-base or WR9.0-base system for operation to about 1 THz. See details in tables below.
